I may not be good at the pottery wheel, but I'm an expert at eating ice cream.

We had our second pottery class tonight, and I've realized that despite the fact that I'm a very creative, left-brained person, I absolutely suck at throwing on the wheel. To make matters worse, our teacher, Don, is one of those people who is amazingly awesome at what they do (and a super nice guy) yet can't teach worth a lick. His best line yet has been, "It's really not that difficult" which he repeats over and over again as he gives instructions on the various steps of throwing. "I just pinch it like this. It's really not that difficult." or "I push down with my palm...see, right here. It really shouldn't be that difficult." Besides all of this, I'm convinced that as I'm hunched over the wheel, I am also suffocating our baby in the womb. When I straighten up and feel a sharp pain, I panic, but a few minutes later when I have to fart I tell myself that it was just a trapped gas bubble. Needless to say, I think I'm going to try hand building next week. My goal is to make a cute pair of bookends for the baby's room.

Now, as I sit here writing this blog, I'm finishing the last of a pint of Ben and Jerry's Vanilla ice cream. Just scrape the spoon around the edges and lick it clean. It's really not that difficult. :)

Oh yeah, did I mention that today I'm 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant! Wooooooo!
